The Manila Critics Circle announced the
winners of the National Book Awards for books published in 2005 at the
Manila International Book Fair in the World Trade Center in Pasay
City, Metro Manila, on August 31. The awards were sponsored by
the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, the National Book
Development Board, and Primetrade Asia.
Named Publisher of the Year was Anvil
Publishing. Esther Pacheco was given a Lifetime Achievement Award.
